Jean Ronald (Hackney) Jones

Jean Ronald Jones, 90, of Mt. Eden, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at her residence following a recent illness.

Jean was born in Frankfort to the late Charles Thomas Hackney and Leo Elizabeth Gallahue Hackney.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Phillips (David) of Lawrenceburg, Kimberly Dohner (Scott) of Mt. Eden. Grandchildren, Leah Pike, Jeremy Dohner (Sam), and Kevin Dohner (Lynn). Great-grandchildren, Gregory Foster (Megan), Caitlyn Foster, Devan Edwards (Travis), Morgan Foster (Logan), Ashton Gaines (Cassie), Landon Gaines (Talashia), Gabriel Foster (Jennifer) and Lucas Dohner. Great great grandchildren, Zariah, Rylan, Harlyn, Julius, Jax, Rory, and Cora. Her life-long best friend, Maxine Bauer.

Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Edward “Red” Jones, her siblings Doris and Billy, her great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Gaines, and granddaughter, Tabatha Phillips.

A Celebration of Jean’s Life is planned for February 14, 2026, in Lawrenceburg from 12-3pm at the Anderson County Senior Citizen Center, 160 Township Square. Jean will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville on March 7, 2026.
